Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari Hot Spring Spa Tokyo

japanese spa

The Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari hot spring spa Tokyo is one of the largest Onsen(hot spring spa Tokyo-style) theme parks in Tokyo designed to look like a village from the 1800 Edo period in Japan. The spa provides a variety of pleasures in an idyllic setting. The spa centers on a natural hot spring that provides water to the mineral baths. There are indoor and outdoor natural pools. The landscaping is a peaceful combination of water, trees, and Zen-like sculptures and stones.

Treatments and Services at Hot Spring Spa Tokyo Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari

At the Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari spa near Tokyo, you can experience a number of relaxing and not-so-relaxing treatments. Soaking your feet in a shallow pond for 20 minutes and having small skin-hungry Piranha-like Garra rufa fish strip away any flaky old skin from your feet. You can also get a good scrubbing with the Kasuri body scrub. There is the “One Hundred People,” – Hyakunin, a sand bath.

Soak in Salt!

Enjoy a rock salt sauna, a low-temperature sauna lined with Himalayan rock salt. As the salt interacts with the steam it generates negative ions and promotes relaxation.  There is a Japanese Garden Foot Bath where you walk in a pebbles-lined stream for a foot massage. The Kinu No Yu holds micro nanobubbles to soothe tired muscles. There is also a steam bath and a large outdoor communal natural hot spring bath.

Facilities at the Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari Spa

On the spa, grounds are playgrounds for Japanese traditional games and toys, a theater, a gallery, restaurants, bars, food courts, fortune-teller shops, and shops for goods and souvenirs. So with all this on offer the open hours have to be pretty liberal. They are only closed from 09:00 – 11:00. If you get tired during your day at the spa you can always relax on a tatami mat laid out in the tearoom at night or on leather reclining chairs. There is also an adjacent hotel.
