Gariunia Market Vilnius

If you want to shop till you drop; see a slice of local Lithuanian life and visit the largest outdoor market in the Baltic then don’t miss the Gariunia, one of the best Vilnius markets. They sell everything and it will take you a good few hours to see it all. The market covers about 120 hectares and has both indoor and outdoor stalls and makeshift booths. The best way to get there is by taxi, the market is about 4km out of the center on the Kaunas road and you can ask your taxi driver to wait for you or plan with him when he will pick you up. There are clean toilets and a tea room with only locals. In fact, you won’t bump into many tourists here. It will take you a couple of hours to walk around the market.
Open Hours: Sunday 06:00-14:00; Tuesday and Thursday 04:00-14:00; Saturday 05:00-1400 and on Friday and Monday, the market is closed.

Hales Market

Another of the best Vilnius markets is Hales; as the name suggests this market is housed in a former traditional food hall originally built in 1906. The market is located in the Old Town making it very accessible. In 2002 it had a complete make-over and the gentrified hall now welcomes locals and tourists. The hall covers 8,400 square meters and offers every kind of food under the sun. In addition to the food, there is a good selection of knock-off brand items, low-cost household goods and other market offerings. It is a good place to sample local food prepared in clean surroundings. There is ample parking and several restaurants and cafe.

Open Hours: Tues-Sun from 7am

Address: Pylimo g. 58, LT-01307, Vilnius

Blusturgis Market

This market is much smaller than the others mentioned here. It is in a cute courtyard setting where the stalls are set up outdoors. Blusturgis stalls sell second-hand goods and hand-made items. Find toys, clothes, vintage items and antiques. Imagine locals going through their cupboards and finding all teh things they had forgotten about, then bringing them to the market!

Open Hours: Only on Sundays 11am – 15:00

Address: Vilniaus g. 39, Vilnius 01402, Lithuania
