Having done extensive traveling in Europe when I was younger, and been to all the museums that you just “have to ” see, I now select the museums I visit according to how unusual, unique or weird they are. Which brings me to the Kantonspolizei Kriminalmuseum in Zurich Switzerland. It is the kind of museum where you want to stop and read each label, and understand the story behind each exhibit. The museum showcases the history of the judiciary, the cantonal police, crime and crime prevention, focusing on the sickest cases of course.
What’s at the Criminal Museum Zurich?
Originally this museum was used to train and educate policemen. the museum is housed in the former police barracks and is spread over 700 square meters. The Criminal Museum, Zurich showcases famous crimes through documents, historic photos, authentic antiques, and models that are “acting out” scenes from the crimes and criminal investigations. There are also multimedia presentations – it is a mix of old and new museum exhibition methods.
