Like me, you may have been to London many times, but have you ever been to the dog races in London? If you fancy a bet, and a few laughs make your way to the Coral Romford Greyhound Stadium.
Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium
After 89 years the famous Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium closed its doors in 2017. It was the most renowned venue for dog races in England and hosted the annual Greyhound Derby.
Dog Races in London
There are still a few places to see a few dog races in London and several in other cities across the UK. If you’re in London in August you could attend the annual Omni Epsom Downs Terrier Derby. This charity event sees about 40 small dogs (not just terriers) racing in groups of 4 across the track. It is a family-friendly event and lots of fun.
For Friday and Saturday London dog races you need to pre-book (because of the high demand) by calling 01708773444. Tickets are £7.00 for adults and £5 for those under 18yrs. The place has recently been refurbished and they have a pleasant restaurant where you can get a 3-course meal for £35 on Fridays and Saturdays and £15 on weekdays (including the entrance fee). These London dog races offer special deals like the Seasonal Saver when pre-booking for 2 people or more for a Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday you pay £6 each for entrance, a £1 win tote, an alcoholic drink, and a hot dog!
